Description

The future isn’t real.

The past isn’t real, either.

Only the present is, solid and full, flying at our faces, our bodies, our hearts and souls at breakneck speed as we work to take it all in.

As we work to protect others.

And, finally - ourselves.

We’ve started to break the bonds of Stateless, a system as rotten as the one it seeks to destroy. But systems are organisms with one brutal goal: to survive, whatever it takes.

Kina has to do the unfathomable to save a different system, one she created out of empathy and love for children we rescued from the only home they know.

She’ll use her mind, her body, her spirit — and her ultimate weapons: love, and —

Me.

Fateless is the final book in US Today bestselling author Meli Raine's Stateless trilogy.

  • A surprising ending

First, this is more of a serial than a series. This can not be read alone, Stateless and Traceless must be read first. Normally, I’m not a fan of serials, unless all books are available (which they are). Fateless finishes Callum and Kina’s story. This was a excellent group of books, but trying to keep all the names straight was challenging. And the use of words that aren’t always common knowledge made me glad for the e-reader’s built in dictionary. (Cuz sorry, I had no clue what the hyoid bone was.) This is not the normal style of book I gravitate towards, but I’m truly glad I gave this a shot. Plenty of action in all the books, people that Kina and Callum should be able to trust, but can’t, & beliefs/knowledge they grew up with then finding the truth about it. If you are after a typical thriller/suspense romance this may not be the series for you. I do highly recommend this series, but Callum and Kina grew up FAR from normal. So a typical romance these are not. This did hold my attention and, at times, on the edge of my seat.
  • Don’t miss this series.

Man, this is one twisted story. As always Meli Raine, scooped us up and wrung us out to dry, with twists that are unexpected and heartbreaking. Yet still the questions linger. Will there be more? Or is this the finale. Soooo good. Don’t miss this series. Top of your TBR list.

Terrible ending in this last series Stateless. No where near the writing or feeling of the others in this series of trilogies. The others were 4 & 5 stars. I had pre-ordered & was so looking forward to each book. Unfortunately, I was disappointed.
  • Best so far!

Callum and Kina’s story has been one of the best stories so far!! (I say “so far” because there’s no way the story ends here) the way they view our society and the details of how everything is slowly crashing down in stateless was by far my favorite!! I truly hope the story doesn’t end here! Absolutely phenomenal!!!
  • Book 3 in trilogy

No longer living in Stateless, no longer born without a trace, and no one to rely on but fate Callum and Kina tread through life with a new agenda unlearning everything they were conditioned with. With no sides left to play they focus on learning the truth. With the truths comes the process of unlearning everything they were programmed to learn. Fateless continues where Traceless left off with Callum and Kina escaping the compound with the kids. Overall: There are a lot of moving parts and my brain seems incapable of processing it all. The larger parts get muddled in my brain leaving only tiny parts to process. I have difficulty dissecting these pieces. This political conspiracy is so big that it’s unclear where it originated. The story is well thought out and executed. It’s entertaining in a way that has me eager for answers. Yet it’s daunting as I feel like the answers won’t be simple or easy to find. With only one compound to formulate answers from and only one side of the playing field to gain intel from it’s different to pin point the truth. Glen was a vital character in the prior two books and yet her assignment and activity has dwindled. Without knowing what the other side is planning it’s challenging to ascertain who all players are in this game. I’m still questioning whether I’m at a disadvantage for having not read the previous series. Apparently that series offered a better understanding about Stateless. I’m not as invested in all the supporting characters as I am with the main ones. All the other characters crowded the story confusing me more. Again too many working parts. All the mini plots building into the main plot was too intricate. It’s difficult to see from this level how it all ties together. There are so many moving parts it’s crucial to understand all the pieces, yet my mind can’t seem to process it all. My head was spinning from all the information being dumped on me. I just needed Ms. Raine to spell it out for me. Sadly, the conclusion felt anticlimactic to me. I still have unanswered questions. Why weren’t the children given back to their parents? Why were they taken to begin with? How were they chosen?

From the first time we meet Kina yo now you just want her to be happy and be ok. This book was a great conclusion to the Stateless series and beautifully intertwined all her past characters from n Allie to Jane to Kina. Amazing read

I have loved this series. It has been full of twist and turns along with mystery and suspense. This was a definite page turner. Kina and Callum story was unique, growing up in Stateless, they were trained to fulfill their roll for the cause. Which side was right and which one was wrong. Lines got crossed and the missions got blurry. Who could you trust? Could they even trust each other? Who was the bad guy or the good guy? I loved reading this and seeing it all unravel never expecting what was happening. This is a must read series.
  • Edge of my seat!

The last book in this trilogy answered all of the questions and has opened the door for even more. After reading the first two books in the series, I definitely thought that I would get this trilogy more if I had read any of the books that came before it. While waiting for this book, I read Lindsay's story and started Jane's and they definitely made me have a greater understanding of Stateless. The ending to Kina and Callum's story was really wild!! There was so much suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, and racing through the pages. I have my fingers crossed that there will be more to these interconnected series!!
  • What an epic ending!!

What an epic ending!! Not only do we get the resolution and ending for Kina and Callum, but we also see the coming together of all the previous books and characters in this overall series for the answers to all the questions and understanding of things that happened even in the first book of the first sub-series. To say this was an epic book is an understatement – be prepared to have your mind blown. Although I’m definitely sad to see this series as a whole come to an end, I’m excited to see if this author will take us more into the world of Stateless, because although things have a resolution and are finalized with Kina and Callum, as we have determined in the previous book, there is many more factions within the Stateless group as a whole. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this series and also this author. I haven’t seen any other author have multiple sub-series within an overall series and keep readers attentions with each one (and each sub-series having three books a piece!). Between the style of writing to the overall plot and ideas, I couldn’t get enough and continued to read each book in one sitting! Can’t wait to see what’s next! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
