Description

When you've lost your wolf, how do you get it back?

'Jane Doe' has no idea who she is or why she wakes up in a...nursing home? Full of shifters? She may not be old, but they say she is a shifter—only her wolf is MIA and she's in some kind of trouble she can't remember to boot. And there's this guy, Ryder. Something about him makes her tingle in all the right places. If only she knew whether or not she already had a mate, why she's been stashed in shifter 'retirementville' and where the hell her animal half went.

What if your wolf picked a mate you couldn't trust?

Former pro-fighter Ryder Chase plans to get away from his no-good pack alpha, Mason, and forge a new life for himself, but there's one little problem named Jane. Ryder's wolf wants her more than he wants to breathe. Mate. Mine. Finding his mate would be good news except for the part where she knows Mason. Is Jane mixed up with his alpha's dark side and everything Ryder wants to leave behind?

Full length, stand alone novel from NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Michelle Fox. No cliffhangers! Lots of plot!

Note from the Author

With this latest Huntsville book, I wanted to do something you've never seen in a romance novel, let alone a paranormal one. Which is why a nursing home full of shifters is one of the major settings in the book. (Because, while shifters may get old, they never stop kicking ass.)

Now, most of the time, Huntsville shifters stay with their pack from cradle to grave, but occasionally there's a pesky 100-year-old werewolf who won't stop wandering into the human world and sprouting a tail because they've forgotten the rules. Of course, the alpha can assign round-the-clock caregivers, but as it turns out, 100-year-old werewolves are also wily escape artists. Shifter packs need a place to keep their elders safe and out of trouble, hence Crescent Pines, the nursing home in The Alpha's Fight.

And if the pack happens to end up with a stranger who needs a place to heal while the sheriff investigates the trouble they've found themselves in, what better place to stash them than a nursing home? (Full of characters about to cause major trouble. Naturally.)

Don't worry, there are also plenty of bars, a strip club, various cabins, vampires, shifters of all shapes and sizes and a whole lot of action with a big dose of steamy romance in The Alpha's Fight. I just wanted to mix things up a bit and give you a story that you most definitely have never read before. Enjoy!

Left a lot to fill in about Lia’s memory at the growl and howl concerning mason.

Amazing from the first word. Jane wakes up in a retirement home, she has no memory. Ryder Chase has come home and after seeing how things are in the pack has decided to start his own pack. Along the way Jane finds out her name is Lia and she has a twin sister. I think I felt every emotion with this book. I didn't want it to end, yet I wanted to find out what was going on. Not only does Jane/Lia find her memory & her sister she discovers her mate in the process. So many amazing characters in one book. I really enjoyed Tillie, Ryder's grandma, such a feisty one. It's a well written book and should be read by all. The characters truly came alive. *Disclaimer... I received a copy for the purpose of review. The opinion stated above is 100% my own.*

I got this story in exchange for an honest review. Wow, what can I say??? This story is an adventure from the first to the last! You have an amnesiac young wolf stuck in a nursing home, a feisty grandmother wolf and her former shifter MMA-fighting grandson, a bad alpha and his flunkies, and a host of other characters. This story is a part of a series and I’m most definitely going to have to read up on the rest of them. I’m ready to learn who is behind the blood slave ring and for some reason, I think that the answer may be closer than I’ve realized while reading this book. Ryder and Lia are true mates who went through so much, but in the end, love did conquer all! I absolutely loved this story and I hope to see more of them in upcoming stories but I wish that the bad guys suffered more, lol!
  • An Action Packed Shifter Romance

I was drawn right into this tale of a Jane Doe who has no memory of her past waking in nursing home for shifters. As "Jane" searches for herself and her wolf she finds more than she bargained for in the handsome grandson of a patient. The story is packed with mystery and action, a dirty alpha and his followers and some very scary vampires. “You're going to be mine. Every inch, every cell, every breath." "Every howl," Lia breathed. "Every howl," he agreed. "Your fangs and fur belong to me." "Yes," she sighed. To belong to Ryder meant she had a place in the world and she wanted that very much.” I really loved this story. It is the first book by Michelle Fox that I've read but it surely won't be the last. The Alpha's Fight is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

Enjoyable reading! Humor, action, and sexy times, with loads of interesting characters. I loved how the story mixes in mystery, as I just couldn't stop turning the pages, I recommend be ready to stay up late or skip out on some chores (take out maybe?). A highly recommended read!

This is the story of Lia and Ryder. Lia woke up in a nursing home having lost her memory and not knowing how she'd gotten there. A nurse sedated her as she began to panic. The next day she is befriended by a resident , Tillie, who sets her up on a sorta "date" with Ryder, her grandson. Lia is much younger than the rest of the 80 year old residents, late 20's or early 30's.Lia is still desperately trying to figure out how she got there . Ryder however, is not ready to date or find his "mate" as his plate is full trying to help other members of his pack get away from the cruel and violent Alpha, Mason. Ryder used to work on the MMA Shifters fighters circle and has recently come home to find his grandmother, Tillie, who was taken out of the pack and forced into a nursing home. Though this book started out in an unconventional way, it intrigued me so much I could not put it down. It has everything. If you like shifters, vampires, kidnapping, runaway twin sisters and a HEA romance where one has lost her memory and the other is waiting to right wrongs you'll enjoy reading this book. I'll be looking for more paranormal books from this author as she IS that good. This is An ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was given the chance to read this book.. And I will say I'm glad that I was given the chance... The story was a great story to jump in and get to know the series and as an addition to the series it is great too... The characters really draw you in and you can't put it down until the end, which I didn't because I wanted to find out how they were going to end up with each other or without... If you get a chance to read this, it's a must to pick up..

His Alpha, Mason, is sending wolves to challenge him. He is trying to lay low while his plans for a new life solidify. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

"Jane Doe" wakes up in a nursing home and she knows she is to young to be there. But her biggest problem is that she can not remember anything including what got her there in the first place. One woman takes her under her wing, and lucky them she has a single grandson. Ryder is hot and single. He has spend years becoming a top fighter. The only problem is it has becoming boring since no one can beat him. When he returns to his pack the alpha wants to kill him. But this alpha is a low life and fights dirty. Ryder's granny pushes for him to help Jane Doe and to get together. This is a great read and highly recommend it
