I choose random romance books from the library to read and have been doing that for the past 3 years or so, and I would definitely say that this is the best book I've read so far. The humor combined with the romance was just amazing. I found myself having to put the book down several times to take a breather because things were getting very intense. I've never had to do that before and it's too bad that more books don't have that effect on me. I definitely recommend this book!

This was a great book to start up the series we all know and love. With McKell being one of the hottest vampires and Ava, the new AIR recruit making him hotter! McKell getting vanished to the surface for his punishment of releasing Bride as a child and then later returning her so she can become his wife as planned many centuries ago. Ava is the smart mouth new AIR recruit that is sent in with her best friend Noelle, to capture and bring in the hunky vampire McKell. At this point McKell is sulking and doesn't want to be bothered. But the tiny, smart mouth recruit catches his eye and starts having these feelings he has never felt before. Needless to say it is not one sided. Ava also feels something for the sulking vampire. But feelings are put on the back burner because they both want something from the other. So they make deals to help one another. But soon feelings get in the way and shared enemies plot to destroy them. McKell being the only person who might can save Ava and the world. It has new characters and new twist that is sure to play out in future books. It's a great read! Can't wait to see what Gena brings to the table in the next one.( PLEASE LET DALLAS AND NOELLE END UP TOGETHER GENA !!!!!)
