Jack Cassidy heads the team opening the next in an exclusive line of boutique hotels, this one in wine country. Working with his best friend's sister should make it easier, tapping into her expertise about the area and its wines. The pair have been friends for years, so sharing an apartment shouldn't pose any issues… except for the simmering heat building between them.

Campbell Taylor's one of only a handful of women to battle the all-boys club and go for the title of Master Sommelier. She didn't rise to her position by being a pushover, but living and working with her brother's best friend – the man she's secretly crushed on for years – might prove to be her greatest challenge. How can she get him to see her as more than Cameron's little sister? And will their undeniable attraction derail her dreams?

I like the Hotel Kings series but I had a bit of a time getting into this story. Campbell has been in love with her brothers best friend Jack but she wants to be a wine sommelier and she can’t let her feelings get in the way of it. When Jack shows up to start overseeing the hotel Campbell explains she gave Jacks apartment away to the landlords father and he would have to stay with her. Well Campbell is pretty sure she can resist her urges for Jack but she doesn’t realize he has them too. Good story and I can’t wait to read the next one.

This book is a brothers best friend romance! Jack and Cambell have known each other for years and have had an attraction to one another just as long! They find themselves thrust together and when they can no longer fight what they feel things start to get complicated! As both try to juggle their futures they have to decide if having one together is possible! Jack and Cambell were such a cute couple and I love how gutsy and take charge Cambell is! Jack is the perfect gentleman but such a beast when he needs to be!
  • Irresistible Romance

I’d been eagerly awaiting Jack and Campbell’s story ever since Hotel King. Jack was so appealing in the first book and I knew he’d be an incredible hero. Underneath his charm and swagger, he turned out to be a total sweetheart and the perfect match for Campbell. She’s my favorite kind of heroine: strong, smart, passionate and dedicated to living her dreams. When the two of them have to share her apartment, her teenaged crush on her big brother’s best friend flames to life again. The fact they’re working together on the second Hotel Kings’ luxury boutique hotel in wine country adds so much to their connection. The chemistry leaps off the page and I couldn’t put this book down. If you love gorgeous settings, realistic characters in their 30’s, and a dose of passion in your romances, look no further. I stayed up until 2 am to finish this in one sitting and I bet you will, too! 5+ stars for Wine Country King.

Ooooh this book! Second installment in Hotel Kings series. I loved the first one, so was excited to read this one. And I MIGHT just like it better than the first. Career-driven Campbell is working towards her Master Sommelier and has no time for romance. Jack is known as a playboy and a drifter, but finally feels ready to set them down for this Hotel. Campbell has crushed on Jack (her big bro's bff) since she was a young teen, but now this could be real... BUT she has dreams of being a Master Somm at a Michelin Star restaurant in Paris and Jack wants to finally put down roots in wine country. Does she give up on her dreams? Does Jack leave the one place he's finally decided to put down roots? Is this Romeo and Juliet, love destined to end tragically? Ok there was the small part of my black black heart that wanted them to NOT have the happy ending, to have the romantic downfall of a thousand broken hearts, but ALSO this is not that kind of book. And the reason I read these romances is because my black black lump of coal heart needs to be warmed by passion, true love, and happy endings. *spoiler alert* there is no double suicide at the end of this book. (see? absolute chunk of tar where my heart should be) Bottom line: Great easy read, lots of steamy passion, witty banter, true love, and happy endings.
  • Brother’s Best Friend+Forced Proximity=One Great Book!

Claire Marti is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors, and I loved the first book in her California Suits series and have been anxiously awaiting book two. Wine Country King did not disappoint! If possible, I enjoyed it even more than Hotel King. Jack was such a fun secondary character in the first book and this is his story. He is even more appealing as we learn more about him as the main character. And Campbell is such a great match for him. She’s smart, funny, sassy and it was so fun to watch their relationship unfold. Wine Country King checks a lot of boxes for me...gorgeous California setting (which Marti always describes so beautifully, I feel like I’ve been on a vacation there when I’m done with her books), brother’s best friend, forced proximity. What’s not to love? Nothing...I loved it all! 5 stars from me for Wine Country King, and I’m already looking forward to book three in the California Suits series.
