Wilder With You

I just love a novel with an “ensemble cast”, and I certainly would love to meet and hang out with the Wilders and their crowd, if they were real. So many interesting characters. Clark and Jenna definitely had a rough go; their journey was very convincing. Serena’s writing had me fully invested and pulling for them all the way. This is the first book in this series I’ve had the joy to read; I’m looking forward to catching up on the rest of the bunch.

OMG! This series just continues to knock my socks off. Loved Jessa- she was such a cool woman and of course Clark- who wouldn't fall in love with a big bear of a man with a squishy soft heart?! Wilder With You is the 3rd book in the Wilder Adventures series but can be read as a stand alone. Do yourself a favor though- read the other 2 books because they are just as amazing as Wilder With You. I received this ARC free from the author. The review was voluntary. The opinions my own.

We return to the reinvigorated Rush Creek, Oregon and Wilder Adventures, this story is about Clark Wilder, the widow and Jesse Olsen, the divorcee. What starts as a simple act to defer a bully, Jessa’s ex-husband, suddenly becomes a fake dating that takes on a life of its own. I loved Jessa, even though it took Clark and Imani, her best friend, to push her to stand up for herself, Jessa found her voice and backbone. Jessa learned to go after what she wants, even if that was Clark. Clark on the other hand, definitely used the situation to his advantage and fake dating Jessa gets his family off his back to move on from his deceased wife, Emma. The problem is that Jessa was one of Emma’s friends, and now Clark has a hard time admitting any real feelings for Jessa. As the fake dating real sex lines blur, the date for Jessa’s cross-country move rapidly approaches and will Jessa and Clark admit to their real feelings for each other. I’m happy to say, Clark and Jessa definitely get a happy ending, regardless of all the drama around them.

Man, these Wilder brothers just keep getting better!! I have been so looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint. Clark was the perfect mix of complicated, rough around the edges but sweet and genuine. With the tragedy that befell him he’s a bit of a lost soul but the way he comes alive with Jessa was incredible. The two play off of each other really well, each dealing with their own hardships. Another perfect addition to the Wilder series, and with the sneaky peeky set up to Kane’s story, I am now once again brimming with anticipation for the next book!
