Description

I’ve gotten a do over... And I’m determined not to screw it up.

I’m a tough guy. I’m a whiz with power tools, earned my hard hat and work boots the legit way, and can throw a football spiral that makes pro quarterbacks weep. But when Maddie, the mother of my son, shows up on my doorstep in tears, I have zero defenses. I can’t say no to my kid. Or his mom. Never have been able to.

That’s how I make two big impulsive decisions: giving Maddie a bed to sleep in… and climbing in with her. Now I’ve got my kid and his mom living under my too-small roof, and I can’t put the attraction genie back in the bottle.

I always knew I wasn’t the guy anyone wanted as a dad or a husband, and nothing’s changed in that department. But I can’t deny that this time, something’s different.

I just hope that thing is me.

Jack and Maddie were childhood friends until his family dynamics changed and a rift formed between them. After a breakup, Jack consoles Maddie like he used to when they were kids, until sexual tension enters the equation. Oops, now there’s a baby on the way. And that’s just the back story. Present day, Maddie is forced to leave her apartment and moves in (by invitation) with Jack, her son Gabe’s father. Forced proximity, chemistry and sexual tension kick in and Jack and Maddie embark on a no-strings sexual fling until she finds a new apartment. But can they really deny their growing feelings??? Misunderstandings from the past get resolved, but not without a lot of angst before Jack and Maddie get their happy ending.
  • Amazing second chance romance!

When Maddie shows up at Jack's doorstep crying over her latest broken relationship, Jack can't help but let her back into his life and into his home while she finds a place to live. The last time Jack consoled Maddie like this it led to the conception of their son, but Jack would love to have them back in his life permanently if he only was deserving of them. This book was an amazing friends-to-lovers, second chance, forced proximity romance book! (How's that for a list of romance tropes!) The chemistry between these two is off the charts hot from the first few chapters! If you love spicy love scenes, if you love adorable interactions between Dad and young son, if you love watching two lovers get a second chance at love, then this is the book for you. I'm convinced that Serena Bell can't write a a bad book, and this one doesn't disappoint in the least. I'm looking forward to the re-release of the rest of the books in this series!
  • Fun second chance read

This is a fun second chance read. Jack and Maddie went from friends to lovers to parents. Several misunderstandings have plagued their relationship. When Maddie and their son need a place to stay, Jack gets his chance to try again. There are plenty of steamy scenes and some meddling by well meaning friends and of course their son.
  • Poignant, hot, and fabulous second chance

Do Over by Serena Bell is one beautifully poignant, hot, and wonderful second-chance story. It’s part of her Under-One-Roof romance series, and all stand alone. Jack Parker and Maddie Adams were childhood neighbors and friends. They’ve had off-the-charts chemistry forever but Jack’s history has not left him in a good place to commit to a relationship. Serena Bell’s characters are so well written and it is both completely heartening and wrenching at times to see them be honest and vulnerable and true to themselves and each other. Maddie and Jack’s path is not exactly straight but it is an incredible journey and one that ultimately leaves me joyfully all smiles.
  • Second chance, friends to enemies to lovers

Jack is not nearly as messed up from his dad as he thinks he is. He just needs to accept the right woman to lead the way and show him how much love he has to give. Jack and mAddie are life long friends who hooked up 5 years ago when she was home from college for summer break. It gets too emotional for him and he lets her think he has someone else. She finds out she’s pregnant and is keeping the baby. When she gets done with school and moves back close to home, jack “tries” to have a relationship with their child, but mostly let’s his mom and sister take care of young Gabe. Maddie is living with her boyfriend who she walks in on with her best friend. She turns to Jack and the rest is history. He becomes the dad she knew he could be and finds his fitting with his line of work. This was a really good story with a lot of feelings and history to deal with if you’ve liked other Serena Bell books, you will definitely like this one! I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
