Description

The Last Letter is a haunting, heartbreaking and ultimately inspirational love story.“—InTouch Weekly

Beckett,

If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have.

I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride.

My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. It’s not fair.

And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart. She’s going to need help.

So if I’m gone, that means I can’t be there for Ella. I can’t help them through this. But you can. So I’m begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family.

Please don’t make her go through it alone.

Ryan

The last 10% of this book ripped my heart out, stomped on it and set fire to it.

I liked this book but didn’t love it. I thought the story line was a little far fetched, which I guess is the magic of reading books, but I like things to be a little more realistic. The ending was definitely not what I expected! I would recommend if you want an easy read.
  • I couldn’t quit turning the pages until the very last one. “Double-Awesome”

This book begins with a theme that’s predictable, but soon turns into a page turner that will keep you up all night. As with all of Patricia Yarrow’s books it has a message.

  • Those last few chapters…

I liked this book I really did… until those last few chapters. They were beyond unnecessary, and in my opinion ruined the book. I know that this is a fiction book, but no one person experiences that much loss and trauma. And then such an unrealistic loss at that. SPOILER ALERT: No school teacher would take 7 year olds on a field trip where children could fall off the edge of a cliff. And I sure don’t know many individuals that have lost both their parents, their brother and their child all in separate accidents.
  • Wonderful.

This was such a good book; heart wrenching, but wonderful. Rarely does a story bring on the tears but this one did.
