this is the recipe of life
said my mother
as she held me in her arms as i wept
think of those flowers you plant
in the garden each year
they will teach you
that people too

I read her “whiskey words and a shovel” when i was 13 and fell in love with poetry. I am now 21 and i reread this book when i go through a bad break up. it’s very good to help u real ease everything and let you know your not the only one who gets that devastated when ur heart breaks. 10/10!!! u literally cannot read it without thinking of someone it’s so vivid !!

This book is filled with such raw words that are able to paint such a vivid picture. These poems really do make me feel and think on those thoughts that have felt this words before. I love this book and had such a connection to it. So amazed by the author!
