    Exciting confrontations. Really bad bad guys. And bad girls! Shaun black really puts the rough stuff right on the page and it is jarring and shocking to see it since by comparison many of the other good thriller writers Clean up the confrontations and smooth things over.

    Ryan Lock has to deal with demons from his past as he tries too figure out who is out to get revenge against him. A page turner that kept me up all night! Ryan Lock is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters.

    I love a good mystery and usually have a strong hunch about who-done-it. Sean Black is a master at keeping you guessing. Each time I think I have it figured out, he throws another curve ball. Ryan Lock is a self assured, macho kind of guy in the business of close-protection security. His girlfriend, Carmen, is kidnapped and held hostage. Ryan's confidence is shattered when his actions will determine whether or not Carmen lives or dies. The stakes are high and personal. Her kidnappers are professionals with high level skills - a good match for Ryan and his partner and best friend, Tyrone (Ty) Johnson. It is up to Ryan to meet the demands of the kidnappers or Carmen will die. Don't think you will figure out the who, how and why along the way. It won't happen! This book is intriguing, artfully written and difficult to put down. Thumbs up, Mr. Black. You have a winner here.
