The old story of a millionaire’s son, that has become unmanageable and is sent to Dad’s ranch. This is all an effort to set the boy straight, and to break him of his rebellious spirit. The ranch is located in Montana and the author offers very detailed descriptions, often bordering on over narrating the subject.
Prior to his arriving, the father had experienced a long feud with neighbours, the Kings, of the Dad ranch. The story gets edgy as the boy falls for the daughter of his father’s rival. The characters are very entertaining, especially the old fiery man, King. There is even a car chase and the book offers entertaining interactions and scenery. The book culminates in a very intriguing fashion and that makes the reader want more and more.
As the story progresses the narrative is both entertaining and deep. Bower pays attention to great details and develops relationships very well.
