First published in 1870. Illustrated with over 600 engravings of tatting patterns, crochet patterns, knitting patters, netting patterns, embroidery patterns, point lace patterns, etc. "Every Pattern and Stitch Described and Engraved with the utmost Accuracy, and the Exact Quantity of Material requisite for each Pattern stated."  According to Wikipedia: "Isabella Mary Beeton (12 March 1836 ñ 6 February 1865), universally known as Mrs Beeton, was the English author of Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management, and is one of the most famous cookery writers."
