The Graveyard Verse

The Graveyard Verses is a selection of narrative poetry from “The Vamp Anthologies”, which were a collection of four volumes of over 800 unpublished poems from Warren “Vamp” Thompson.  Mr. Thompson is a disabled veteran who served with the US Army for 8 years during the global war on terror, under two Presidents.  While serving in the military he worked for the National Security Agency, and had a chance to see how looking at war from a strategic perspective stripped technicians and leaders of their humanity.  “Vamp” has high functioning autism, but rather than view it as a disability, he uses his unique perspective on the world to attempt to verbalize all natures of the human condition through metered and unmetered verse.  The Graveyard Verses has over 75 poems dedicated to those individuals he encountered over his nearly decade long career.  It is a unique and haunting exploration of who we are, the paths we choose in life, and what legacy we all wish to leave behind.
