Its purpose is to help women to maintain or achieve fashion sense and personal style by taking inspiration from the subjects depicted throughout, women reflecting a self-assured elegance with a total awareness of their age. The issue of age has always been a major concern for women in a world which has clearly always favored permanent youth as the ultimate, unreachable goal, and in particular when youth has passed away...clearly a male diktat, for women are bound to age as much as men themselves are. So, in a way, this book is also, if not above all, a statement on how women who are no longer young should pride themselves of their positive, elegant image and take a stand against the prevailing trends of youth forever at any price...namely, old can be and IS, as beautiful as young (just a little bit older).
