Sizzle is book 1 in the Remington Rescue Squad series by Kimberly Kincaid and a great start to this new series. Also for more back story on this couple get the prequel, Boiling Point!
First up is Sam Fourier and Lucy de Costas story which started a while ago. These two get into trouble for not following the firehouse rules, back to fire school, getting closer, heating up the pages, looking for a possible arsonist, twists, turns and more…
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lucy and Sam couldn’t be more opposite in their ways. Lucy is the rule follower and Sam love’s breaking the rules. But, when these two get together the air around them sizzles. Add in a pyromaniac and you have the fixin’s for a heart pounding, complicated and oh, so sexy romance story. Once I started this story I couldn’t stop.

This a new series, and if this is a sign of things to come, I look forward to more. Romantic suspense, which I love, keeps you on the edge and guessing. Sam & Lucy are firefighters and after disobeying an order at a warehouse fire (easy for him to do, not so easy for her lol) they get benched. They can’t get past the fire though, and investigating turns up arson. Now it’s on! This was hot in all the ways! Exciting and dangerous, and I look forward to more!
Love, danger and embracing who you are

Sam and Lucy’s romantic suspense story grabbed me from the first page and kept me frantically turning pages until the very end. The weaving together of the romance and the danger was delicious romantic suspense perfection. It was the perfect balance between the slow ramping up of the suspense, the gradual deepening of the relationship between Sam and Lucy, and the twisted viewpoint of the bad guy. Sam and Lucy are portrayed as real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really just trying to do their best as messy humans. Lucy has been a firefighter on engine for three years. Her father is a battalion fire chief in another district. She loves being a firefighter and is all about following all the rules all the time believing that is the only way to keep from making mistakes. Sam is part of the elite rescue squad and has been a firefighter for ten years. He has ADHD and is impulsive as well as charming. Sam hit on Lucy when she first joined the team three years ago but she shot him down and since then they’ve both been secretly squishing their attraction for each other. When they are both reprimanded for failing to follow a command at a fire, they end up spending more time together which jump starts the journey to their HEA. To get there they’ll have to unpack a lot of personal baggage by learning to trust each other all the while trying to identify and stay safe from the arsonist that they’ve accidentally angered. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline as shown through sweet moments, spicy scenes, exciting action, danger, strong friendships, painful pasts, evil actors, imperfect characters, laughs, and love. I am looking forward to more stories in this new series.
Absolutely magnificent

SIZZLE is the first in Kimberly Kincaid‘s Remington Rescue Squad series, and it is absolutely magnificent.
Sam Faurier and Lucy de Costa are fellow firefighters at Station Seventeen, and though they are both excellent at their work, their personal styles couldn’t be more different. Lucy is a by-the-books personality, while Sam’s much more familiar with bending rules on occasion. When their commitment to their work puts them right in the crosshairs of a dangerous criminal, neither will back away from potential danger to themselves.
Kimberly Kincaid continues to thrill and awe with her tightly plotted and beautifully written stories. Sizzle is excellent and new and continuing readers alike won’t be able to put it down. She balances the emotional intensity with the palpable threat to the characters and their safety. Sizzle joins her other titles on my keeper shelf, and I’m already eager for the next in this series.
