Description

Darby Quinn has a bone to pick with Cinderella. Burned one too many times by ex-boyfriends, Darby has lost all belief in the happily-ever-after that the fairy-tale princess promised her. She's sworn off love, Prince Charmings, and happy endings and she's happy about it. Really. Or at least she was…until she met Jake, her gorgeous neighbor and the manager of her favorite restaurant. But Darby has rules about dating, ones she's culled from her years spent with so-called "princes," and starting something with Jake would break all of them.

Charming, fun, and unwilling to give up on her, Jake doesn't fit any of the profiles Darby has created from her case studies of ex-princes-gone-bad. Finally presented with her own Prince Charming, can Darby take a chance on a happily-ever-after?
Full of wit and sarcastic humor, Cinderella Screwed Me Over by Cindi Madsen proves that sometimes the perfect love, like a perfect pair of shoes, is just within your grasp.

The main character was ridiculous and unlikeable. Incredibly self centered.

I will give this book 3 1/2 stars. If someone would have treated me, the way she treated Jake, I would have left her happy butt behind!

I’m not one to typically read books or write reviews but this book was so good i had to leave a review. It was corny, it was romantic, it was just perfect. 10/10 would reccommend this book to anyone. Cindi Madsen should definetly work on a sequel, I need to know whats in store for Jake and Darby’s future.

Everything about this book was perfect. You understand why Darby has fallen out of love with love, and why she fights so hard. As someone who loves so strongly, I related to the crushing blows she received at the hands of romance. And yet she knows when she’s gone too far... At one point Darby makes a comment about “that’s why stories end after they fall in love.” Which is exactly why I’d love to see a sequel! I want to see these guys still fighting! I want to see her sister in law’s PPD addressed. What gets them through the years? Because if this couple can get it down, there’s that kernel of hope for anyone!

Jake & Darby are neighbors, and he wants to be more. He also owns her favorite restaurant and she feels it is a little too close for comfort. What if something were to go wrong? Darby does not believe in happily ever after. Not anymore. She has the case files to prove her theory. So the fact she is attracted to Jake bothers her. How can she want someone so wrong for her? This is a funny story. It also has some hot secy times. The characters are certainly meant to be and it is a slow burn watching them circle one another. The case files are a must read for any romance lover. ***This copy was given in exchange for an honest review, by Netgalley and its publisher.

Yes Darby is cynical, but you know who else is? Life. Even those who claim to be optimistic romantics can't help but be a bit cynical after so many years. That's what we saw in Darby but more importantly we saw someone who was still willing to be proven wrong. She wanted someone to prove to her she was worth it and isn't that what we all want? Really enjoyed Darby and Jakes story and the love we see grow between them in a way that was out of a fairy tale while still being supremely realistic. This is how a relationship actually unfolds in real life, with real people with real fears, and proves we all deserve our own fairy tale.

Darby was just too cynical for me, I couldn't get through the book, stopped halfway through. Really disappointed because I love Cindi Madsen and her accidentally in love series. I understand the antidotes with the Disney stories and her past dating experiences but it got too frustrating and I wanted to see what was happening with her and Jake.

This book was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend it. The author was so clever with all of Darby's ex-boyfriends. It reminds me of all my old childhood memories with princess and princes. Even though the ending was obvious for me, I still laughed and dreaded all the bumpy parts in the story. Cinderella screwed me over is an amazing book! I do have to say it was a little all over the place but it still is an amazing book! You MUST read it!!!
