Great read by a man that could simply talk always about his accomplishments. Rich is a very blessed athlete but keeps a solid perspective with his balance with Christ and with competing. What a great read for any individual looking for a boost of confidence in the games of life, and how to keep Christ first with learning how to improve physically. I only wish all athletes in every sport that are on top could learn how to have the perspective of one of the most amazing athletes on the planet. What a great role model Rich has become, and an awesome example of e discipline it takes to win.

I came across this book by a serendipitous moment. I had never heard of CrossFit until recently while buying new shoes for a workout program I had started to get into shape. The workouts creator recommended Reebok CrossFit shoes to which I googled & found out about the workouts & Rich Froning. In seeing pics of him & the Galatians 6:14 tattoo I began finding out more about the CrossFit champion & his faith. I got this book & have been blown away by the story of tragedy & triumph that led to the man that is inspiring people all over the world. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone for inspiration to push yourself, never give up & to realize what's most important in life.

This book is very encouraging, humbling, and inspirational. One of the best reads EVER! “And what God’s Word has taught me is that the key to truly winning is not to be first. The key to winning is to put God first.” Rich Froning, "First"

I am not a cross fit person, but found out about it from a work colleague. I watched the games last year and saw Rich Froning win his 2nd straight championship. I bought the book out of mostly curiosity, to see what went on. I was majorly surprised on how this was not just a book about Cross-fit, but about a man's journey into different stages of his life, and how he handles it. From job choices, family tragedies, marriage, to instant fame. And through it all, he found who had been with him all of his life. GOD. Read this book, it is funny, serious, and will make you ask yourself.... what am I doing
