Description

Mordecai’s growing power and success have made him a threat, not just to the gods and their minions, but also to the king of Lothion. An unholy bargain has been struck to bring him to heel and increasingly it seems that victory may not be worth the price, not if the cost is measured in the blood of his family. Wizard, lord, husband, father, and now archmage... no man can balance so many roles without sacrificing something. Will the world worth saving if it the very reasons he has for living in it?

  • Great storyline but Inconsistent character name and editing issues detract a little

The story line in the series is great. I even like the use of more modern vernacular. However, there are a few issues that might seem minor but over the course of the book/series it becomes distractingly annoying. Between the first book and this one, Mort’s adoptive mother’s name changed from Meredith to Miriam. Maybe it’s just my OCD but I’m finding myself actually saying “meredith” everytime her name comes up. Additionally, there are word choice issues such as using “too” when it should be “to” along with various smaller editing issues. Each instance of this is very minor but the cumulative effect is, as mentioned above, distractingly annoying. If the author/editing team could fix these, it would greatly enhance the reader experience.
  • Very very good.

This book made reading the first two so worth it! I have just downloaded book four without any doubt. Much more grown up writing and a super story. Thank you, please keep 'em coming!
