This book is the first of three volumes of the works of English novelist and playwright John Galsworthy, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1932. This volume contains the first of the three novels that make up The Forsyte Saga, titled The Man of Property, originally published in 1906. This novel became the basis of the 1949 film That Forsyte Woman.
