First 40k book I have properly red, very much enjoyed the more grounded perspective in what can be a very intense large scale setting.
A Great Read

It’s a story told so well that it’s not really reading - it’s experiencing the story through the images the words create. No jarring dropout of imagination caused by clunky prose; instead, a sense of being caught up in the story settles on you from page one.
It’s a good story told in a great way by an author who crafts characters to do the work of storytelling.

This is an amazing book for those that want to dip their toes into the deep space that is Warhammer 40k. The God Emperor approves this commissar and his beloved ghosts of Tanith.
Pretty good

The Gaunt's Ghosts series is fast-paced and perfectly gritty. They represent the Warhammer 40,000 world brilliantly, and with no shortage of brutal military action.
