Description

Red Bones marks the third in a stellar suspense series set on the Shetland Islands from bestselling author Ann Cleeves--the basis for the hit BBC show Shetland, starring Douglas Henshall.

When a young archaeologist discovers a set of human remains, the locals are intrigued. Is it an ancient find—or a more contemporary mystery? Then an elderly woman is fatally shot and Ann Cleeves's popular series detective Jimmy Perez is called in. As claustrophobic mists swirl around the island, Inspector Perez finds himself totally in the dark.

  • This one a bit different

All the Shetland books are a bit the same. A murder occurs. The detective comes out, investigates. There is an association to the past... He solves the crime. There are no giant climaxes in these books. They dole out the way the Shetland people and way of life are described by the author. However, they are well written, the characters are people the reader cares about. It's the scenery and the people that re well described. The books are relaxing and engaging. A good read.
  • Do not read

Boring, predictable, a tale as old as time, no twist. Don't waist your life reading the second book.
