Description

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julie Ann Walker delivers perfect pulse-pounding romantic suspense! The former Navy SEALs of Deep Six Salvage thought they could retire to the sea and hunt for treasures of the deep, but when trouble comes to visit, there'll be hell to pay.

Former Navy SEAL Spiro “Romeo” Delgado is six-plus feet of high-octane charm, and he has two hard and fast rules. One, always come to the rescue of those in need. And two, never give up his fast and furious bachelor ways. But when Mia Ennis joins Deep Six Salvage on the hunt for the Santa Cristina, her mesmerizing blend of brains, beauty, and bravery makes him question everything he thought he wanted in life.

Mia’s traumatic past has taught her to keep everyone she meets at arm’s length. But Romeo, with that body that is forever tensed for action and that dark gaze that tracks her every move, makes her feel safe in a way she never expected. Yet the secret she carries compels her to keep her distance—even as the past comes back to haunt them.

A harrowing plane crash ends with Romeo and Mia marooned on a desert island. When a boatful of men bent on murder drop anchor, Mia discovers her only hope for survival depends on her letting her guard down around Romeo. But surrendering to the passion she feels for him might be the most dangerous thing of all...

Just when I thought this series couldn’t possibly get better, it does! I actually missed these characters and was so glad to be back! I felt like I was seeing old friends. This book is intriguing, funny and a page turner. As a matter of fact I was completely shocked when I got the the Epilogue page I was so enthralled what was going on! I’m always disappointed when I get to the end of Julie Ann Walker’s books and this was no exception.

I truly love this series; it is sexy, funny, fast paced, and keeps you turning the pages. I absolutely adore the cast of characters and how one books takes off right where the other ends. I love the set up for the next set of characters that happens in each book and the cameos of the previous characters. Romeo and Mia are magic together, you can feel the tension, the attraction and the love on the page. It pulls you in and keeps you engaged.can’t wait for the next book. I love this series.
  • Love the Deep Six crew!

Back to the island with the Deep Six crew! This book had the classic action adventure and romance we’ve come to expect from Julie Ann Walker. Family drama, search for sunken treasure, a plane crash, and more. The book also featured a slow burn romance between Mia and Spiro (aka Romeo). They’ve been circling each other for months, both with childhood baggage affecting their relationships. Whoa, the chemistry! The book introduced the new Deep Six lawyer, Cami, who struck sparks off of Doc. Their witty banter added a lot of humor to the story. I definitely recommend this book, and highly suggest you read the others in the series first. I received an ARC for an honest opinion.
  • If ever there were 2 people meant to be together …

Holy cow. If ever there were two people meant to be together, but who found every reason to be apart, that would be Romeo and Mia. Each feel guilty for things that happened in the past and don't feel deserving of love. But how do you stop feeling the lust that they feel towards each other and the need to protect the other? It starts out as an emotional barrier. He needs to protect her from falling in love with him because he's a love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy. He's never going to get married. She needs to protect him from the fact that she's a bad person (or so she thinks). When the truth finally comes out, about everything, all bets are off and let love reign. I was really looking forward to this book in the series to find out what the deal is with both of these characters. There are so many secrets that need to be made public and ultimately that is what happens. However, after all of the little hints dropped in this book, I cannot wait for Doc's book. Another set of secrets that need to be revealed. These characters just keep on giving, just like the Energizer Bunny.

This book has everything I would wish in an excellent read. I simply loved it, love this series. Kept me on the edge of my seat, had me laughing at the banter, sighing with the kisses and looking forward to the next book.

“Shot Across the Bow” is an exciting action packed romantic thriller like all of Julie Ann Walker’s Deep Six series. This is the fifth book in the series and finally Romeo has his own story. I’ve been waiting for Romeo’s book and it was worth waiting for. Romeo goes through a lot to get the girl he didn’t know he wanted. I liked that this story was character driven more than the action driven. I don’t want to give away the plot, but I was on the edge of my seat while reading this one. I love the Deep Six series and “Shot Across the Bow” is as good as the first four books have been.
