Description

Orphan Daliah Owens has been working for the Smithfield bank for two years without a problem at least until the new manager arrives and her drawer suddenly comes up short. Dismissed from her job and disgraced by a crime she didn't commit, Daliah seeks a second chance with an elderly couple heading to Texas on a wagon train. Facing the hardships of the trail with bravery, compassion, and faith Daliah quickly endears herself to not only her employer but many of the other members of the band as well. Invaluable in her knowledge of herbs for healing and nutrition she is soon recognized as an indispensable helper to all.

Spencer Gaines, still bitter after the loss of his wife is a hard man to talk to, but his five-year-old son Chad, and greatest treasure is more trouble than he can handle. Determined to finally settle down near his brother in Texas Spencer signs on as a chief scout for the wagon train but his duties often lead him far afield leaving Chad to get into so many scrapes they could both well be dismissed.

Will a devastating accident leave Spencer empty and alone forever or will he not only learn to trust God but also give Daliah his heart?

I love wagon train stories and this one didn’t disappoint . This author gives you so much and makes you feel like your on the trail with them. The characters are all well written and so easy to love ( except a small handful but that’s to be expected:) as you get to know these characters I hope they come into the other books in this series! The references to having Faith and relying upon God we’re wonderful and the reader can relate to their own lives as well. Great book for any age to read.

Daliah steals your heart right from the start. Characters feel real as so do their problems. Danni Roan catches you right from the start. She spins a tale that makes you put off chores to see what is next. She does this without profanity or pornography! She lets her story telling abilities hook you!Well done.

I liked this because it was well written. The story dealt with hardships, loss, but overcoming them with hard work, friendships and love. You can always start over, especially when you put God first. God always gives us a fresh new start.

This story evolved into a mystery. In the process, I became familiar with the wholesome and loving characters during their wagon train trip to Texas. Tragedy and successes, along with a love story, entertained. The author let us slide into feeling a caring love for the heroine and her extended family. A feel good novel and pleasure to read.
