I’ve read all the books in the series and excitedly pre-ordered this one, but was instantaneously disappointed. I put it down and revisited it a couple of days ago (almost 4 months after the initial read). I was able to finish it the time, but that’s about all I can say about it. It was lacking in many ways... I’m ultimately grateful that this wasn’t the first book from the series that I read for I wouldn’t have invested time in reading another. My recommendation: skip it.

I love her villain series but this one didn’t fit with the others. She mentions the sisters and the fairy tales but it just didn’t fit. On its own, the story was very good and well written. I’d suggest reading this book with the thought of completely forgetting about the others in the series. That’s the only reason I knocked off the fifth star.

I have to start bu saying i have mixed emotions of this book it is always great to see Moore of villains that are not valued as they should so i appreciate that part in the book knowing cruella and anitas relationship even where did perdita came from is fascinating , i also did not like the fact that author made cruella into a miserable and a broke person when in the movies live action and carton she was not broke in live action she was a named fashion icon so that was kind of out of place. It disappoints me that the last couple chapters i feel where rushed and where not quite up there with all the other books finale it lacked action and it was literally the movie in a book i believe Moore could have been done with this villain overall its a interesting book and i enjoyed the time invested.
