  • Good read - Not a thriller

    Not a page-turning thriller (a little mysterious); however, a well-orchestrated plot accompanies Jewel’s peerless character development. The conclusion is a wee bit hokey compared to Jewel’s blockbuster hits. It’s a 3.7. I round-up because I’m a math guy. ~Pines

An outstanding book I greatly enjoyed reading! I’m so glad I ignored the review by Publisher’s Weekly! I disagree completely with that review and wonder what book that reviewer read?!

Very entertaining, suspenseful with irrepressible subtle but appropriate humor scattered throughout. Beautiful imagery in a number of passages about love, family, feelings, alienation.

  • Solid Story, Slow Start

While I did read this in a few days it had a very slow start. The book centers on 3 seemingly unrelated characters. The slow burn to see how those characters are linked could have been shortened entirely. Once it picks up the book moves very fast then it is all summarized in a few pages. I felt more energy could have been spent there, as the story feels a bit incomplete. Overall, it was a good read though.
