I am a big fan of Mr. Forsyth and have read almost every novel he has written. Historically his books feature well researched, complex, highly plausible plots. His characters are well developed human beings whose motivations are credible. His villains are skilled, intelligent and dangerous opponents. Historically the end of his stories are are very near run things. The Fox disappoints on most levels. The plot is very episodic and the episodes / characters are not well developed and the conclusions are predictable.
Unimpressive

It’s evident the author knows precious little about the subject of which he writes, and struggles to address basic computer systems let alone the concept of “cyber”. The frequent misapplication of terms “firewall”, “database” and “malware” is distracting even for the non-computer literate. Further, the reader is expected to buy into this modern, high-tech world, only to then have characters revert to faxing pictures of people between agencies.
I wanted to enjoy this, but the world has moved on, and Forsyth is simply out of his depth.
