Hunter made a promise four years ago that he wouldn’t stop loving his high school love Vi after they had blissful sensuous romance. Truth be told he did keep that promise but broke up with her on the advice of his dad when he left home to become a Navy Seal. Back home after four years of service he wants with all his heart to right that wrong but Violet keeps avoiding his advances. Violet has grown into a beautiful woman, has her own bakery business, but the hurt and shameful talk about their past relationship weigh heavy on her heart. She believes Hunter will only hurt again. Hunter must find a way to prove that he is worthy of forgiveness or lose Vi forever. I do adore second chance romances as everyone deserves a chance to be happy with the one they truly love. The authors have mixed reality with fantasy making this a great read and they have filled the pages with some tear-jerking moments, action, powerful vivid scene descriptions and engaging dialogue. There is more to this story than just a romance making it more intriguing. Hunter did prove that he is an honorable man and the romance between him and Vi is filled with much adoration and fiery passion. Loved the ending too. If you treasure second chance romances this is a great book for your library. This one broke my heart a little. Sad and sweet and sexy. Dumb kids don't understand life and make choices they shouldn't, but it doesn't mean they can't find their way back.

The story is emotional and at one point had me in tears. Hunter returns from his tour with the Navy and wants to pick up with The girl he left behind, but she doesn't see it quite the same way. Violet is dealing with a sleazy banker's son and a sick mom. The story is short but it is a must read.
