This story is heart wrenching with lots of twists and turns. The writing is beautifully descriptive, and the characters were developed very well. I felt like a friend of their’s in Alaska. The twists and turns left me a little confused at times so I thought some story lines could have been less dramatic (more believable). However, I loved and appreciated the end.

I learned so much about an area of the country I had known nothing about. Beautifully written. Couldn’t wait to see where the next chapter took me.

Loved this story. It was sad at times, frustrating but also beautiful. Jodi Picolt brought life of an Alaskan to life and showed that together they could help each other survive.

I could not put this book down and read it in two days! Leni was such a fighter. So many times throughout the book I could relate to her and also felt for her in her times of struggle. The entire story kept me so engaged and wanting to know what happened next.
