Description

What do you do when everything you love is taken from you?

Before the genies fled human space, they tested Jack Rimes. He survived their attacks and became stronger.

Now the real enemy has been revealed, and it's more inhuman than the genies ever were.

The metacorporations fled Earth when the United Nations cracked down on labor abuses, pollution, and playing one nation against another. But the metacorporations need Earth and the colonies to survive, so they've come back. With a vengeance.

Rimes has seen cold-blooded warfare before, but the metacorporate soldiers--encased in synthetic bodies--have lost any connection with humanity. Their tactics are horrific, their willingness to commit atrocities boundless.

And with Rimes, they push too far.

What will he do once he has no reason to live? What will be his judgment?

  • Stellar Trilogy

I devoured the entire Jack Rimes trilogy in 3 days. Couldn't get enough. P.R. Adams has so cleverly created imagery of a not so impossible to imagine future. Capitalistic corporations seeking to topple government, genetically enhanced humans, quick fix stem cell therapy, mind to machine integration, off world colonies. I highly recommend the trilogy and am quickly moving on to the ERF trilogy.
  • Nicely done, good ending to the Rimes series

I found “Awakening to Judgement” every bit as good as the preceding two books. As with the other two books, this one also addresses perseverance in the face of adversity, and keeping one’s morals in a shady world. I also liked that each of the three books has a different tone - each book has the same thematic goal, but each gets you there in a different way than the predecessor. I enjoyed “Awakening to Judgement” a lot - as Michael Woods notes in his review, the book takes a bit of an unexpected turn, and it works out very well. Nicely done, PR Adams! At the end of the book, PR Adams says he’s got more Elite Response Force books coming. I’m looking forward to them!
