Description

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Janet Evanovich, bestselling author of the Stephanie Plum series, teams up with Emmy-winning writer Phoef Sutton for a brand-new series of mysteries featuring Emerson Knight and Riley Moon, a dynamic duo with instant and undeniable chemistry.

Emerson Knight is introverted, eccentric, and has little to no sense of social etiquette. Good thing he’s also brilliant, rich, and (some people might say) handsome, or he’d probably be homeless. Riley Moon has just graduated from Harvard Business and Harvard Law. Her aggressive Texas spitfire attitude has helped her land her dream job as a junior analyst with mega-bank Blane-Grunwald. At least Riley Moon thought it was her dream job, until she is given her first assignment: babysitting Emerson Knight.

What starts off as an inquiry about missing bank funds in the Knight account leads to inquiries about a missing man, missing gold, and a life-and-death race across the country. Through the streets of Washington, D.C., and down into the underground vault of the Federal Reserve in New York City, an evil plan is exposed. A plan so sinister that only a megalomaniac could think it up, and only the unlikely duo of the irrepressibly charming Emerson Knight and the tenacious Riley Moon can stop it.

Praise for Curious Minds

I loved reading this book! It is like a comic action hero movie, written in a book! Riley Moon, is a graduate of Harvard Law School, grew up in Texas, can shoot a gun, think on her feet, and match wits with her wealthy brillant and eclectic boss/partner Emerson Knight. As they engaged in a wildly improbable adventure penetrating the vaults of the Federal Reserve bank and depths of Area 51, to find out what’s happening with the world’s gold reserve, I laughed out loud and sped through the pages of the book so fast that I literally was surprised that I was almost to the end. So glad there is one more to read, but sad, there’s only one more to read!

Evanovich continues the Knight and Moon series with all of the hilarity and mischievousness you expect. Continued character development of Emerson's cousin, Vernon, is laugh-out-loud funny. Does not disappoint. A must read.
  • A bit of fluff

I'm sure you've read this book before. The plot is as old as pulp fiction. Iconoclastic main character leads the heroine on unlikely adventures and defeats bad guys bent on world domination. Witty reparte ensues. It's not the tense, highly charged James Bond version but the goofy, tongue-in-cheek Maxwell Smart kind of story. There is very little depth to the characters and it's barely worth a review except to warn others not to waste their time.
  • Another great story from Janet

This story was entertaining and laugh out loud at certain points. When Guenter gets in the act in the gold vault, I couldn't stop laughing. Thank you for the belly laughs, I needed that!

Looking for a fast paced, well written, totally unbelievable, action mystery this book is for you. Emerson is practically a Marvel Comic superhero, Riley is the perfect foil & the sub-characters are appropriately evil or endearing for their roles. A good beach read.
  • Interesting but would like to see where this goes

Loved, loved, loved this book. I thought I would never enjoy another book/series as much as all the Stephanie Plum series. Well this does it! I read it non-stop start to finish. Laughed, cried, was frightened and intellectually challenged. Bravo to the authors. Now I will have to wait on pins and needles until the next Plum book as well as the next Knight and Moon book! Can't wait!
