Awesome book!!! I struggled for quite some time with my memory. It was never bad but as I moved into the professional world and began to study for my Real Estate Exam I realized I was just not retaining everything I read. I found myself selecting what I felt was the most important the exercises in this book is definitely helping me with that bad habit I ‘ve developed.

My son had been having trouble lately in school remembering stuff. Especially lists, tables etc. I was looking for something to help with this problem when I came across this book. After reading through it, and taking the tests in there, turns out I'm not that good myself. I explained many of the tips and tricks to him and many of them are actually working. The scaffolding technique explained in vivid detail is really useful in academic learning as there is a lot to remember, especially during exams. I read through the book completely and came to know of so many scientific facts and research information which has increased my overall understanding of the subject as well. I would say that this is a great book if you have trouble remembering things or even if you think you are absent-minded. Just try it! I'm sure it will help in some way or the other!
  • Useful for intro memory recall techniques

Recommended purchase. This book manages to chunk the chapters and chapter sections nicely. I'm able to easily find any section of interest I want to re-reference, thus making this a good quick reference guide for memory recall techniques. The only part of the book I skimmed was the last chapter, which felt like a summary for the whole book, but was far too repetitive for me to find it worth reading. Though memory techniques can be applied to any activity, this is a book I feel college students should especially consider purchasing.

Using techniques from ancient times to modern research, this is a practical guide to help improve memory and recall. The beginning is a little bit technical, but the book is full of tips and techniques to help get your brain working better and faster. This was very informative and helpful!

While I’m not that old, as I’ve gotten in my 40’s I find myself getting frustrated when I have a hard time remembering things that are burned into my memory. I received this book as a Christmas gift after discussing memory with a friend and have really found it interesting. It covers how memory works, exercises, and other tips to make remembering various things easier. A light and informative read for all!

This book gives a very good review of how memory works and ways to improve it. We all get forgetful as we age. Diet, lack of sleep, depression, medications etc. can affect ones memory. The book is divided into three parts and the author has explained different methods to enhance memory and advanced exercise for people who already have good memory but want to give it extra boost. List of nutrients that are helpful is also given. Overall very helpful book.

I thought this was a pretty good book, and interesting to read. I enjoyed the quick tests for short term memory, it was like a little game. I use many of these tips already, such as acronyms, rhyming, and visualization, but there were some new ones I didn't know. I'm hoping this helps my husband improve his memory as well!
  • Great Book on Memory Function

This book discussed both short and long term memory and the things that get in the way of remembering, one being having such busy lives. The author has an interesting short term test for memory function and shows other ways to help to improve our memory. The author also mentions by reviewing things periodically this will increase your long term retention. I enjoyed reading about associating things that have meaning as a way to keep things in your memory. There is no better time to start working on our memory than now and this book is a great help.

This book was a decently easy read, though some of the sentences were a little long considering the subject matter so it's not something you can just page through and expect to recall everything. Some of the examples that the author uses were very silly and confusing, but just remember that not every method of increasing memory will work for everyone.

My memory has taken quite a hit as I have gotten older and the number of daily things I am tracking has multiplied exponentially (not to mention a constant need to learn new things at work). The methods provided in this book are sure to help with my ability to remember daily things and my learning curve with new information and systems. A few of the methods I was already using (if not very deliberately) but others I had never encountered. It’s easy to see how they will be helpful. I also found the information on memory theories and research extremely fascinating. If you would rather skip straight to the tips and tricks, I would recommend jumping to part two.
