Description

An Instant National Bestseller!

Once a black ops assassin known as Orphan X, Evan Smoak broke with the program and went deep underground, using his operational rules and skills to help the truly desperate with nowhere else to turn.

A young woman is kidnapped off the New York City subway, clearly in danger and in need of aid. Evan is determined to help but with no name and few clues, his first challenge is to track her down.
Once he does, Evan offers his help―and sets out finding the young men responsible. But the woman insists that Evan abandon his usual methods―no vengeance and, in particular, no killing. Given the mounting incoming threats from all sides, this will prove to be Evan’s most dangerous mission yet, one that will test the limits of his skills and abilities.

Racing from coast to coast, from the poorest corners of society to the richest, Orphan X must figure out a way to protect the innocent, avenge the victimized, and balance justice with a measure of mercy.

Please please tell me you’re writing another one. The only series that keeps me captivated from start to finish. Life lessons included.

Great read. The Joey arc is actually workable and the character development of X is good - just don't push him too far!

The novel moved between scenes like a jerky movie. I finally got it right and was able to keep up. I liked it but it was difficult at times.

As always, incredibly well written in microsecond detail. Love the way complex topics are visualized, but I don’t like the new X. Joey and Candy are also not the same. In the real world, yes, we need the justice system, but I haven’t read all of these books to see X be soft so the wheels of justice can arrest the bad guys, I read these books because X is justice. In this book, X is not the executioner of old. Sad.

Great series, always interesting characters, good twists and terms and superb writing.
  • Too Much Padding

I think I have purchased all of the Orphan X books as well as the short stories. The latest books in the series, especially Antihero, seem to be trending with excessive padding. I hope Mr. Hurwitz will return to writing that will include less padding similar to the earlier Orphan X books. With that being said, I am sure I will buying the next one in the series when it come out.

“Antihero” is the best Orphan X story yet!
  • My favorite book to date as it really delves into what Jack tried to do and that is keep X human.

The writing is insane in this book.
