Wow. An incredibly long read for such a short story. First time reading this author. Not a favorite writing style for me. Maybe 90% inner dialog. Drove me crazy. Because of this, I couldn’t really connect with the characters. I will say I enjoyed the last few chapters better. Definitely an HEA. Didn’t enjoy enough to read any other books.
