Description

"A charming, feel-good story of the ways that devoted friends—and great books!—can change our lives with the summer vibes I’m needing right now! There’s a dose of Susan Mallery magic in all her novels; this one just might have an extra scoop!" – Kristy Woodson Harvey, New York Times bestselling author

The rules of summer book club are simple:
No sad books  No pressure  Yessssss, wine!
Besties Laurel and Paris are excited to welcome Cassie to the group. This year, the book club is all about fill-your-heart reads, an escape from the chaos of the everyday—running a business, raising a family, juggling a hundred to-dos. Even the dog is demanding (but the bestest boy).

Since Laurel’s divorce, she feels like the Worst Mom Ever. Her skepticism of men may have scarred her vulnerable daughters. Cassie has an unfortunate habit of falling for ridiculous man-boys who dump her once she fixes them. Paris knows good men exist. She’s still reeling after chasing off the only one brave enough—and foolish enough—to marry her.

Inspired by the heroines who risk everything for fulfillment, Laurel, Paris and Cassie begin to take chances—big chances—in life, in love. Facing an unwritten chapter can be terrifying. But it can be exhilarating, too, if only they can find the courage to change.

“Susan Mallery is a maven of heartwarming summer reads! The Summer Book Club is a page-turner about the best things in life: books, friendship, love, and finding the courage to live our best lives.” – Katherine Center, New York Times bestselling author

Friendship, books, and wine… What could be better? Susan Mallery’s “The Summer Book Club” focuses on three women, their everyday lives and the book club. The book includes love, friendship, and taking chances. As they say “Book Friends are Best Friends”…

Susan Mallery has another winner with The Summer Book Club. Three friends, each a little broken in her own way, find their own way after a stumble or two. They each deal with their own past as they find a happy ending.

What could be better than three great story lines, six amazing main characters, and several well-developed supporting characters?? Throwing in references to some of the best 80’s romance novels I’ve ever read! “The Summer Book Club” is such a fun read! I highly recommend getting in a comfy spot, opening this book and getting to know: Laurel - divorced mother of two, will she ever take another chance on love? Paris - will she ever be able to forgive the actions of the past, both to her and by her, and realize she deserves love and happiness? Cassie - will she finally learn that it’s ok to say no and to live your own life? Susan Mallery has once again taken lives and magically woven them together in a way only she can. And, even though there are some very serious topics included, they are handled with wisdom, character growth, and in some instances, humor. Add “The Summer Book Club” to your “to be read soon” list. You won’t be disappointed!

Susan Mallery does it again, with her trio of friends and their singular problems and issues. Enjoyed this book immensely and there is a link to another Mallery series. All three friends have to face and work together towards finding solutions and moving forward to reach resolutions. Well written and a great vacation/beach read. Do not miss this one.

Susan Mallery books never disappoint. I loved reading about the 3 women in the book - how strong they each were in their own ways. And I loved how their friendships did not take a backseat to them finding love. Another beautiful story buy one of my favorite authors. I received this ARC free from the author. The review is voluntary. The opinions my own

Another Susan Mallery winner. The book club brings them together. Even the men join. This is a story about the friendship of three women, each having an issue of developing a healthy relationship with a man. Through the story, they help one another grow, each in different ways. Another page turner. Couldn’t put it down!

If I love something I tend to talk about it and post about it. When people ask me what genre Susan Mallery writes I always says “well they have a romantic aspect to them but the last few years her books have been more about women’s friendships. Women who build each other up instead of tearing each other down.” That is the first thing that comes to mind for The Summer Book Club. Paris and Laurel have been friends for years when they meet Cassie, who is new to town. Anyone who has moved across the country knows how hard it is to make new friends, especially those who are trustworthy and there for you! This book reminds you that you can be successful and also support other women. I was lucky enough to FINALLY get to meet Susan Mallery on the release day of this book and she said that when she’s creating a character she has to like them. She has to want to be friends with them. And I think that is why the characters in her books are always so relatable. And why I can see parts of myself in so many of them! Get yourself this book and send one to your friend as a surprise so you can read it together!

Laurel and Paris have been best friends since childhood. Cassie is new to town and meets the two of them when they met where she works for their book club. Before long she is member of their book club and renting a apartment from Laurel. Each of them have their own problems with family, relationships and love. Through it all they each support and offer encouragement to each other. I love this book. This is the perfect book to read on the beach or by the pool.
