When starting the book I wasn’t sure I’d get into the storyline, yet as more of the content unfolded I was drawn how Clayton was dealing with his new reality. The “Merry Men” are quite a group of characters and I hope they have stories coming out in the near future. This was a quick and enjoyable afternoon read. Wow… can I give this more than Five Stars? If you want a read that grabs your emotions from the start and keeps you turning the pages, this one did that for me. When a baby is dumped off at your workplace, without you having a clue you were a father, it would be easy to be in denial… especially if that baby ‘deposit’ was from the love of your life, the very woman who dumped you eight months earlier. Hmmm, interesting timing, right? That’s exactly what happened to Clayton Brown, PA (physician assistant). The ‘feels’ in this book reigns. This might be a second chance romance but not the kind I usually see. This one doesn’t unrealistically have the ex back Clayton’s life…. not in the way you might think. Clayton is in a panic, tries to track down his ex. He leaves New York City to a small town in California, his ex’s hometown. It is there he gets help with baby Emma , finds a new home, and find his real true love. That in itself is quite interesting. .. just wait till you see who that love is. The best I can say is this is a heartwarming love story, a true love story … sweet romantic love, small town love and family love. And yes, he left NYC looking for his true love, and he found her.
