Description

EARTH 2717: THE 3RD GOLDEN AGE Building a better tomorrow today… The planet we call home slowly dies beneath us. Most humans now live in teeming surface “Terrarium Cities,” off world colonies or orbiting space stations. All of earth’s resources have been depleted. All corporations, nations and technologies have merged into THE CONGLOMERATE.

Dishonorably discharged from the Conglomerate’s elite Enforcer Corps, Jon is doing a job too lowly for a robot. He leaps at the chance to go on a peaceful, first contact mission to an untainted world. Playing armed babysitter to Samantha, the daughter of a powerful Conglomerate executive shouldn’t be too hard. What could go wrong?

Everything…

For Jon, it’s a relief to get away – on an easy assignment protecting a couple of do-gooders visiting a peaceful new planet. For Samantha, it’s a mission to change the world. For Jasson, it’s a chance to put his theories to the test.

Being marooned on Anomaly where technology doesn’t work, the terrain is lethal and the creatures even more so, Jon quickly learns he’s not the man he once was. Dark secrets surround the various species that call this world home. Jon’s actions here have the potential to ripple across the void of space, and touch everything in it… Maybe even the Conglomerate…

But when Anomaly sprouts synthetics-eating viruses, flesh-eating mutants and deadly magic, it becomes a race against which form of death will come first. Who will survive? Who will return?

  • Great iPad experience, poor story

First, this is how more stories should be told--the interactive dimension is awesome and we need more of it on the iPad. The voice acting is pretty good but would like better, and longer, atmosphere sounds. It's a shame everything fizzles with the story. The first two chapters are great. But then the whole thing falls apart, leaves the sci-fi behind and becomes rehashed fantasy w/ very predictable story. The ending also feels pretty rushed for as much work went into the book.
  • Buy the real Book

I'm sure it's cool on the iPad but it is so much Better in print. I own it, the interactive part is amazing. And the story is AWESOME! I can't wait for the second book. SERIOUSLY BUY THE REAL BOOK!!!
  • But what is the book about???

It's nice to know that the book is artistic, has voice acting and multimedia, but what is the story? What is the setting? Who are the characters? Worst description of a "book" ever. Why should I pay for a book without even a blurb?
  • Good and not so.

Graphics good. Dialogue fair. Performance on iPad 1 left much to be desired.
  • A very enjoyable graphic novel

Anomaly stands on its own merits as a graphic novel, and the voiceovers and touch points add to the experience. It was well worth paying for and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

This was my first time reading a graphic novel and this one had actors voices which added more personality to the characters. It was almost like watching a move. The art was amazingly well done and the detailed notes, you can call up, give you backgrounds on aliens, places, spaceships, etc. The details were amazingly creative and imaginative. The authors really spent a lot of time thinking about the backgrounds as well as the story line. This book reminded me of how the characters and worlds in the Harry Potter books were so well developed. Recommend highly to anyone who likes to read about new worlds and adventure. It even has a good moral message for the reader.
