Description

Gold medal winner in the Readers' Favorite Awards for Paranormal Romance!

The daughter of a murdered king must flee to Alaska to survive. Doing all she can to keep her younger sisters safe, Aazuria tries to assimilate and work among the Americans. She tries to hold her head up high even in the lowest of places, until she meets a somber man in a dark corner with eyes that remind her of home.

Trevain Murphy is a successful crab fisherman who has spent his life building an empire on the sea. When a graceful dancer captures his attention, he becomes fascinated with her old-fashioned speech and unique mannerisms. Learning that her father has recently died, he cannot resist extending his kindness in offering to guide and protect her.

As it becomes clear that the dark-haired woman is much more than she seems, Trevain is unprepared to uncover the staggering secrets behind her innocent facade. Neither the captain nor the princess can imagine that their lives will become forcibly entwined as a common enemy threatens both of their worlds...

This is the first book of the Sacred Breath Series.

This is by far the best book I've read in a long time. It has romance, suspense, tragedy, and action. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a beautiful love story and if you are interested and fascinated by mermaids. This is my all time favorite book and this is my new favorite author! Once again love this book!
  • creative but dull

The details, there are far too many, it really interferes with the story. The descriptions are pages long and mixed with the inner thoughts of the character and dialogue is scarce. The equivalent of using 500 pages to describe the tip of the needle in a manual on sewing. I appreciated the creativity but not it's delivery.

I was worried that this would be another cliche, fantasy/paranormal teen romance novel. It was not. Well written, with a plot and characters not typical of a free book, I couldn't put it down. I especially love how it breaks love story stereotypes: the guy isn't some hunky eighteen year old and the mermaid doesn't have a tail. Love, love, love the story.

I very much enjoyed this book. I think some of the details went on and on and I'm kind of an impatient reader but I still couldn't put this book down. I recommend this to anyone. I just finished the second book "Fathoms of forgiveness" which I also recommend. Getting ready to read the third one.
