    Michael Crichton has the rare gift of being able to observe the present, and foretell the future. I could barely believe this book was written in the 1960’s. In 2023, it is still fascinating. He makes bacteria and virus fascinating. A page turner. Wish he were still alive, so someone could ask him what’s next.

    Tightly written, with clean grammar and little waste. Science is accurate and engrossing. Fascinating plot. Of Crichton’s books, this remains his best and always worth re-reading.

    I often jump into a book and then fall off quickly due to work, life and family. Delving into The Andromeda Strain I became immediately engrossed. I am a RN and the technical writing and medical drama really pulled me in. Sadly, this is one of only two books I read all of this year. On the plus side, it was excellent and I would highly recommend it!

    In terms of end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it tales, this one still holds up to a frighteningly realistic and plausible scenario, all told with the realism and "did it REALLY happen? Is this NOT fiction?" questioning that Michael Crichton's best books evoke.

    The first half of the book was really exciting. However, it did trail off the excitement path a little in the second half. Nevertheless, it was a good a mystery and kept me hooked. I enjoyed it.
