Separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow channel and easily accessible from Piraeus, Poros can flood with visitors during the day, but somehow manages to preserve a timeless charm, picturesque in its architectural uniformity and with the constant, unobtrusive activity of boats and caïques in its placid waters. The island is small and not very built up, making it easy to explore on foot or by bicycle; its waters are clean and its shaded coves a pleasure to swim in.
