Beautifully woven themes of adventure, coming of age, depth of insight, and tender love. I’ve read the series six times and it always reaches something new in my soul, warms my heart, and inspires me.

Everything I’ve been looking for in fiction. Too many men in other stories.

From representation to amazing storytelling, Catherine does such a marvelous job. I am helplessly in love with this story and its characters and the wisdom it offers via lessons and morals of folktales within the story world. I recommend this to everyone, but especially if you happen to not be straight, this story will hit home a bit more. I have nothing but good things to say about this. Thank you Catherine for this wonderful series. -Sif-

I'm a flight attendant and just wanted something to pass the time; I liked the title so I was in... After I started reading I realized that my flight was NOT long enough! Lol still finished it same day! And currently about to buy the second one!

I burned through this series in just a few days. Memorable characters, excellent plot, and twists I enjoyed and didn't see coming. How is this is in the "gay" category? It's clearly fiction, with swords and a little bit of magic.
  • Tedious to read

I only made it about 10 pages in and lost interest. Author tries too hard in the wording and misses the excitement and wonder of telling a story -in my opinion

This was not a book about warrior women. It was more about teaching young girls how to be a satisfying lesbian. I was looking forward to reading about the true strengths of women and was woefully disappointed. There were many teaching lessons applicable to all people, male or female, which was the reason I gave it a two star. I do wish someone would write a book about female warriors of the Amazon lore. Oh, how I would look forward to that novel.

Excellently written. Great storytelling with deeper messages if you read between the lines. She keeps you wanting to read more as she weaves the history of an imaginary land and their cultures. The characters come to life through their conversations, interactions and experiences. I Highly recommend this!
