Description

Everyone knows about the immaculate conception and the crucifixion. But what happened to Jesus between the manger and the Sermon on the Mount? In this hilarious and bold novel, the acclaimed Christopher Moore shares the greatest story never told: the life of Christ as seen by his boyhood pal, Biff.

Just what was Jesus doing during the many years that have gone unrecorded in the Bible? Biff was there at his side, and now after two thousand years, he shares those good, bad, ugly, and miraculous times. Screamingly funny, audaciously fresh, Lamb rivals the best of Tom Robbins and Carl Hiaasen, and is sure to please this gifted writer’s fans and win him legions more.

Yes, we all know how it ends, and, yes, it has to be the saddest story on earth. Buy that doesn’t mean the story can’t have some funny one-liners and idioms and just crack you up. Enjoy! I certainly did!

Have you ever wondered what Christ was like as a child? This book has your answers. This is not a factual book but is hilarious all the same! If you are familiar with the author Christopher Moore then the reader knows what to expect. If you are not familiar with the author you should get familiar! Love this book and author!

I have read several books by Christopher Moore. I love his style and I love his sense of humor. Lamb has been on my list to read for quite a while and I finally decided to do it. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! I cannot stress that enough. Since I was a child I have been a student of mythologies, including those based on the bible. If you are even minutely interested in christianity, judaism or any religious teachings; either as a practitioner or observer; you need to read this book! Walk with Joshua (Jesus) through his formative years as he travels the world learning how to be the messiah. You will laugh, cry, roll your eyes and nod your head in agreement throughout the story. And when you are done you will wish for more. Good news is there is Moore! (couldn't resist) - Get his books and enjoy!

One of the funniest books I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you’re easily offended, pass it up, but if you appreciate some religious humor, this is a must-read.

I was really hoping this idea would be clever and well-executed, but the laughs are predictable, often cliche, and the writing is weak. Less Jim Carey, more Adam Sandler.

I read this a few years back and still consider it one of the most original stories I’ve ever read. Strange and compelling and a fast paced read. Loved it.
