This novel has kept my interest and hunger for the stories written by Preston and Childs.
I am starting my 15th Preston and Childs book, “Cold Vengeance”. Outstanding writing!

This was the first book of his I have read and had no idea it srt of a "to be continued book". Very good and intriguing. Left reader a bit hanging, which I hated! I want to read the end.
I will definitely read another of their books.
Terrible

This Sherlock Holmes/ Watson attempt fails miserably. No real ability to see where - physically and literally the plot was going.
The most disturbing part is the sexist treatment of the female character!!! Making her completely helpless and an object of sexual stimulus. Shameful!!

I enjoyed this book very much. The characters were interesting and I found myself caring what would become of them. I've read other books by these authors, but this is the first time I've met Agent Pendergast. He is still mysterious and I want to know more about him and his ward, Constance Greene. I will certainly be reading the next two in the series.

Excellent. I can't seem to read enough of Pendergast novels. Will go on to the next one hoping it's as terrific as this book.
Excellent!

Having Captain Hayward take a more active role in the "Pendergastian" method of investigating the brutal murder of Special Agent Pendergast's wife, was absolutely brilliant!
Love this book series!
