Description

From the world's #1 bestselling author, a young lawyer takes on the judge who is destroying her hometown—and ends up in jail herself.

In picture-perfect Erva, Alabama, the most serious crimes are misdemeanors. Speeding tickets. Shoplifting. Contempt of court.

Then why is the jail so crowded? And why are so few prisoners released? There’s only one place to learn the truth behind these incriminating secrets.

Sometimes the best education a lawyer can get is a short stretch of hard time.

When you start this, plan to read until the end. I couldn’t put it down. Exceptional.

Worst James Patterson book I’ve read - and I’ve read most. The plot was ludicrous in todays day and age, and there was no meat on the bones. None of the signature Patterson twists and turns - just a thin watery story with characters I didn’t give a hoot abou. I kept hoping it would improve, but It was an complete disappointment. I felt ripped off!

Two books in one about two separate young women lawyers. Sometimes horrifying but excellent reading!

I find the corrupt small town run by 1 crazy man in charge, a tough read, always even by such a good author. In the ‘60’s & ‘70’s it was an all too common theme.
  • Great Story!!!!

Took me a bit to realise it’s basically 2 books in 1. Great writing as usual and kept me engaged, but seemed to be rather predictable at times. Good read!
