I loved this book I couldn’t put it down until I finished reading it . The fact JoJo had been assaulted while deployed and couldn’t remember it , but then she met Max and these two were great together . This book ended in a very HEA and I finished with a heartwarming feeling for these two people.

Ms James has done it again. I am really enjoying the formation of the Colorado side of the protecters group . Max and JoJo are a great read with suspense and moments galore I highly recommend this book and the whole series to everyone

Max Thornton's Green Beret military career ended after falling over 200 feet during a training exercise and almost lost his life. After months of healing and a permanent limp he is recruited by Hank Patterson, owner of the Brotherhood Protectors agency in Montana, who is now opening another agency in Colorado and wants his military skills to help rescue and protect others in need. Josephina "JoJo" Angelica Barriera-Ramirez is military trained and while on deployment in Afghanistan she was attacked and left for dead and no memory of what happened. Deciding to leave the military she returns home to Colorado to hopefully recover her memory and find the person(s) who did this to her. Soon she is being targeted again but she doesn't know who it is...someone new or from her past? When Max is assigned to be her bodyguard and find the culprit these two will need to open up, defeat their fears and maybe find what is really missing and ultimately important to a future...only time will tell.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. While this is the second book of the series, you don't have to read the first one to fully enjoy this. This author is fantastic. I absolutely love everything from her so far. She never disappoints. The action is truly intense and thoroughly engrossing. I felt like I was right there in the middle of everything. The Brotherhood Protectors is opening a branch in Colorado!!! Yay! Max is the second recruit for the branch. The Green Beret was injured in a training jump. He barely survived the fall. He comes to new location that is opening on the Lost Valley Ranch and until they get assignments, he is helping out the owner of the ranch, a former Marine, Gunny along with Gunny's daughter RJ. Max is attracted to a woman who is very standish and prickly. Jojo is also former military. While deployed overseas, Jojo is kidnapped, raped and beaten and buried in the dirt and left for dead. She has no memory of the attack. She is becoming attracted to the former Green Beret who seems to rescue her several times. What these two go through are hurdles that seem insurmountable but how the author gets them through kept me glued to my e-reader. This story is told in a dual POV format. That really helps me to connect and understand the characters the way the author intended. This is a sexy read with a couple of scenes that may not be appropriate for someone under the age of 18.
