Description

An old warrior, too stubborn to die. A royal heir, hidden since birth.
Can they save a realm on the brink of war?

Tragedy tears Gerald's world apart, and only his unwavering loyalty saves him. After serving as a soldier for years, a single act of self-sacrifice thrusts his future into the world of politics.

Cut off from all he knows, he becomes no more than a pawn to those in command. Banished with little more than the clothes on his back, he seeks a new purpose, for what is a warrior who has nothing left to fight for?

A fateful meeting with another lost soul unmasks a shocking secret, compelling him to take up the mantle of guardian. Bandits, the Black Hand, and even the king: he battles them all for the future of the realm.

Memories of the past, secrets that shape the future; his adventure is only the beginning.

Servant of the Crown is the series starter in the epic Heir to the Crown medieval fantasy series. If you like realistic fight scenes, compelling characters, and a gripping story, then you will love Paul J Bennett's tale of a warrior who refuses to retreat.

i am a hard critic, it is hard to satisfy me. this first book was well written and written fairly simply. there is character development without redundancy and a fairly simple plot. i like to read fantasy books about knights, magic, and other creatures that tend to be in fantasy books. i have read quite a few series and eventually most of the ones i love turn to redundancy and at least half of the book repeating the previous book in the series. reading this was nice easy reading that kept my interest throughout the whole book and it was refreshing! very refreshing. 5 stars from me for being slightly different, easy to read, and without redundancy. bravo

It took me a couple of chapters and I was hooked. Didn’t want to put it down; I wanted to keep reading and reading. I felt like I was right there in the story, with all the characters. It was so good, when I came to the end, I had to buy the next book in the series.

Great title. Unfortunately, that’s where the creative writing ends. The dialogue and amateurish and very predictable.

The tale flows effortlessly along, blending action, adventure and heart warming scenes. I’m looking forward to the next in the series. Larry L.

This book is amazing with the way it brings the characters and scenes to life. I truly love how much the father-daughter relationship between two very different individuals develop and how they make a difference in trying to make their country a better place for everyone. Truly a book to read.
