Description

From New York Times bestselling author Angie Fox

Southern girl Verity Long is about as high society as her pet skunk. Which is why she’s surprised as anyone when the new head of the Sugarland social set invites her to join the "it" girls. But this is no social call. Verity’s new client needs her to go in undercover and investigate strange happenings at the group’s historic headquarters.

But while spirits are whispering hints of murder, the socialites are more focused on Verity’s 1978, avocado-green Cadillac. And when Verity stumbles upon a fresh body, she's going to need the long-dead citizens of Sugarland to help her solve the crime. Good thing she has the handsome deputy sheriff Ellis Wydell on hand, as well as her ghostly sidekick Frankie. The bad thing is, the ghosts are now whispering about the end of a certain ghost hunter.

Love all the books in this series. Being a southern belle myself I truly love all the southern influence in this book. The Verity/Frankie relationship is the best but, I'm glad he found a lady friend on the ghostly level. If you have read the other books you will not be disappointed in this one. I already can't wait for the next!

Verity and Frankie are back for the Fifth book in the Southern Ghost Hunter Series. Verity receives a mysterious phone call sending her to the local historical museum. Angie Fox does an excellent job building a cast of characters that you want to get to know better. I love Lucy the skunk and she is one of my favorite pet in any book. I look forward to each new book to see Verity make friends with the most unusual characters. Though this book is in a series, I recommend it to anyone interested in a fun easy read. Can't wait for the next in the series. **I received a complementary of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thought/comments are my own.**

I enjoyed this book very much! Verity and Ellis make a great team and his mother, Virginia, was actually a bit nice to Verity for a bit. This book shows that women have not always lived an easy life and had to do many things to survive in the past. Read and learn as Verity did about women in the past.

I love the Southern Spirits Series! These are my favorite books. Equal parts romance and mystery they keep me engaged and not wanting to put my book down until it's over. This book is centered on murder in the historical society headquarters, it seems that there may be more to the house's history then is presented and Verity Long must sort through it all. Lots of twists and turn and of course the growing romance between Ellis and Verity. The only con... never enough Ellis! And of course I'm still waiting to see more of what happened with Maise from two books ago!!!
  • Awesome story that I couldn't put down!!

This is only the second Verity Long book I've read, but I loved it. Frankie is one of my favorite characters and I enjoyed the scenes between Verity and Virginia, her current boyfriends mom (and her ex-fiancé's mom lol). This book flowed so smoothly and was impossible to put down. I highly recommend this book!

This series is a favorite of mine and this book does not disappoint! Verity takes on another ghost hunting job with her ghost pal Frankie, this time for the new President of the local historical society. Verity & Frankie along with her boyfriend Ellis have to solve a few murders and correct the history of the town. Frankie gets in trouble with a new gangster visiting town and has to go into hiding. He also falls in love! I enjoyed the story about Mick the Angel Maker and Verity's grandmother. Mother Mary's phone calls to Verity definitely had my heart racing. Describing the phone dialing in front of Verity had my imagination going! Love a good scare once in awhile when I'm reading. I hope Verity wins the towns respect soon for her abilities and would love to see Ellis's mom admit that Verity & Ellis belong together. Virginia is really the only character I really don't like in this series. This book was awesome and I can't wait to see what mystery Verity & Frankie have to solve next. (and more Lucy!)

Great vacation read. I really enjoyed Angie's latest installment of her Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series. A ghostly call for help Verity to the Heritage Society's Home for Widows and Orphans in Sugarland. But there is no dead body just the society president asking for help with some suggestively placed mannequins in the museum. The president wants Verily to help her figure out what's going on. Verily is more than happy to help unfortunately she is having some unexplained car trouble when ever she gets close to the house. Before she has time to begin her investigation there is an actual murder at the house. Verity feels she now is responsible for figuring out who the murderer is. With the help of her resident reluctant ghost Frankie and her hunky boyfriend Officer Ellis she investigates. After a few potentially deadly turns she succeeds in catching the killer.
