No person of vision or insight can deny the development that Bahrain has achieved through the last thirty years, that boosted it to the rank of advanced countries and staunchly placed it in a prominent position amongst them. Undoubtedly, each aspect of this development, though varied and numerous - is worthy of being the theme of a separate book, if not several books. Therefore, when I first thought of writing this book, seven years ago, I was totally perplexed : What should I write about ? What should I start with ? All achievements, whether internal or external, seemed to me important enough to be placed at the top of my list of priorities.
