Description

Learn The Basics Of PHP & MySQL Programming Without A Brain Overload!

...”I Hate PHP” is for webmasters and designers who have always wondered what PHP could do for them; someone who wants to “do” some PHP and not outsource it. It is best to be familiar with HTML and writing / deciphering HTML code. You don’t need to be a top-notch “I do it all in Notepad” kinda person - just being able to open up a text editor and understand the code is enough. Copy / Paste knowledge is helpful too.

This book was a great reference to understand the concepts behind php and mysql. If youare completely new to php, for the money get this book. It is short, to the point, and gets you in great shape to read other books with a better understanding of php.

It took one evening to read this booklet and probably one day to write it. This will give you only the most basic understanding of PHP. If you want to become a PHP developer spend more money.

The book would have benefited from an editorial review, as the grammatical errors are rampant. The code examples are very basic & a newbie will probably understand them, but there really should have been more and better ones. Use this to see if PHP looks like something you may be able to grasp, then immediately arm yourself with the "teach yourself in 24 hours," "for dummies" and O'Reilly books.

The scope of this book is limited, but not as limited as you might expect. The author touches on all the most important aspects of the language and gives you all the building blocks you need to get started. The writing is clear and concise and everything is presented in a logical progression so you can understand what you're learning and why it will be useful. Wish I had found this book a long time ago!

For someone with basic HTML experience thinking of using PHP and hooking it up to a MySQL database, this book will be a great confidence builder. Read it in the time it takes to drink a large coffee then call your hosting provider and get started!

I have been teaching my self php for a few years now and this little book made all the pieces come together. I practically missed these basics in the beginning so to see them now makes the hard stuff I learned make sense. Well worth the couple of bucks! Thanks!
