Description

Maybe this time she’s better off with the devil she doesn’t know…

Equal parts determined and petrified, Grace is leaving her abusive boyfriend for good. This is her one shot. She just needs help getting out of town.
Taking sexy bad boy Tyler Preston up on his offer of a ride is worrisome, but necessary. He can’t be worse than her ex, can he?
Tyler is confident that a trip around the US will help him leave his broken heart in the dust, even though ten years hasn’t healed it yet. He still hasn’t gotten over the accident that destroyed his dreams and cost him the woman he loved, but he can’t go on living in the past.
Tyler soon sees that Grace can be his redemption, his chance at being a better person this time around. But Grace has vowed to never belong to anyone again, and Tyler is certain he still belongs to the one who left him behind.
How can two broken and scarred hearts give in to love when they’ve each vowed never to lose themselves again?
This is a prequel novel to the Breathless series. Grace and Tyler will have you rooting for them from page one in this second chance, friends to lovers romance. Heal the past and risk it all for real love.

I don’t know where they got the name. The story got boring after awhile. Same story, different setting. I give it a 3 1/2 stars
  • This story is an intriguing look into the trauma of being a battered woman.

The premise that battered women often don’t see themselves as battered is true to life. Being gradually submerged in battering keeps the contrast between healthy and evil treatment blurred. When the main character was freed from the evil and treated lovingly by a truly kind and trustworthy man, she began to see herself as worthy of being cared for.

I didn’t want this book to end. And I wished the bad guy had a more satisfying ending. I gave it a 3 because I needed a little more of the HEA.

Wow, this was an exiting story. I loved the 2 main characters. She was strong, but weak when it Came to her family. He was lost, but worked on getting past it. Together, they made it happen, with an ending, I did not see coming. Loved the story. Thank you.
