Description

"There's no way to beat this game. The only difference is when and where you die..."
One month has passed since Akihiko Kayaba's deadly game began, and the body count continues to rise. Two thousand players are already dead.
Kirito and Asuna are two very different people, but they both desire to fight alone. Nonetheless, they find themselves drawn together to face challenges from both within and without. Given that the entire virtual world they now live in has been created as a deathtrap, the surviving players of Sword Art Online are starting to get desperate, and desperation makes them dangerous to loners like Kirito and Asuna. As it becomes clear that solitude equals suicide, will the two be able to overcome their differences to find the strength to believe in each other, and in so doing survive?
Sword Art Online: Progressive is a new version of the Sword Art Online tale that starts at the beginning of Kirito and Asuna's epic adventure--on the very first level of the deadly world of Aincrad!

Like others, I have always wanted to know more of this story. I’m glad the other decided to take the direction he did. In fact, I wouldn’t mind if he writes this in parallel of what could’ve happened if they ended up clearing all 100 floors!

I’m not really good a writing reviews but I absolutely enjoyed the Anime and decided to actually “pick up” a book, but with my limit vocabulary and understanding of some of the words and how it played out, I felt it was very well done except on some points I couldn’t comprehend a bit of who is talking second then continued like a regular conversation. I’m not sure if that was just me being completely oblivious to really never reading much and not getting into that zone or Reki’s writing but it’s probably not the latter. I did enjoy the stat aspect and how the mechanics would work in “the game” some of them felt familiar of playing other MMORPGs but also different and confusing to why have this implemented to make the game harder and in understanding yes it is a death game and not to balance like a real MMO but I digress.
